Default Fly fishing in smaller rivers

You have to change it up a bit when you are fly fishing in smaller streams and rivers instead of on the bigger rivers.
I like to fish on smaller rivers because the fish have less places to hide, so I think we are more apt to catch something.
Do you do anything different when fishing in smaller waters?

I pay a lot of attention to places where rocks and the shape of the bank tends to redirect the current; the fish seem to like these areas, so I try to cast upriver of them and let the fly drift down.
