Default Beginning cast

What do you think is the best cast to teach a beginner? When my friends got me started, I learned the roll cast and it was pretty easy to pick up.

Nothing wrong with teaching a beginner how to roll cast. It comes in handy in certain situations. Eventually they'll need to learn a standard overhand cast but for now, that'll work.

The roll cast is a good way to get started because trying to long haul cast, as a beginner, can be really frustrating. Eventually, like everyone else, the beginner will need to learn how to deliver a long cast.

My brother taught me the roll cast at the first time I fly fish. It is easy to learn and surely the way to go for a beginner.
