I have never tried fly fishing

Hi, I am new here and totally new in fishing, not to mention fly fishing. Actually I have never tried fly fishing. :D Is it much more difficult than regular fishing with bait?

Yes-- fly fishing is very different from other types of fishing. It requires much more precision and thought. One is just casting and waiting, the other (fly fishing) is about skill and information. It's almost an art form.

There's a world of difference. It's more challenging and the equipment can cost a bit more, too. But don't let that scare you off. Find a friend who likes to fly fish and follow along.

I don't know if it's more difficult so much as it is just different. If you're used to spin casting where you just cast and sit back and relax this will be totally different.

Try it. Fly fishing is worth all time and effort you dedicate to learn it. In fly fishing, you will learn that fishing is not just about catching the fish. Some people even consider fly fishing a zen like way of interacting with the nature.
