Default Casting with a curve?

I'm trying to master this now, casting with a curve instead of a straight cast. I've mastered the straight cast already, I can short or long cast. I can't seem to get the curve down yet.

Anyone have any tips on how to perfect my curve casting?

Default Curvy casting

Mike, casting a curved line is really not easy. It's all in the timing. Are you trying to cast curves on a still water or river?
On still waters, the timimg is more crucial and wind can assist or completely clobber your cast.
Running water is more forgiving.

So which is it matey?

Default

I'm trying on both but most times when I'm in a river fly fishing. So the water is moving. I'm going to keep practicing. My main goal is to try to get the line around trees and such. I am trying to curve it around them and not through them (getting the line caught).
