Default Wychwood Rods

I recently visited the Glasgow Angling Centre to pickup my first ever fly fishing rod and was happy to see a few deals available.

I was going to get a kit that included a Scierra 7wt rod however they were out of stock and I was "upgraded" to a Wychwood 7wt 9ft carbon fibre rod.

The rod is extremely light, flexible and feels absolutely fine in my hand...are they a decent brand? I'm convinced more or less all of the rods are made by the same firm in China, excluding a few of the industry leaders.
