Default DT or WF line?

What do you have on your fly spool? Do you have double-taper or weight-forward line? I tend to use double-taper because I'm fishing smaller streams and rivers and don't really need the distance.

Well, if I'm shooting for distance then it is definitely the weight forward line. But for my average fishing trip, I use double taper, floating line.

Since I usually fish streams and rivers, I like to keep my spool loaded with double-taper line. It gives me the performance that I need for short to medium range casting.

I hardly have any reason where I need to cast for a really long distance so I tend to stay with a double-taper line. If anything, I may switch out between floating line and sinking line.
