Default Mechanical or Manual Drag?

Do you like to control the drag and tension on your line by hand, or do you have a mechanism built into your reel that takes care of the job for you?

I do it manually at the moment. I think it's better to learn the ropes first before I hand it over to a mechanical tool.

Although I've seen the mechanical reels, I still use my hand and provide the drag manually. Just never really thought about switching over because I really like my reel.

I have a manual drag, too...my hand. LOL The reason I like is that I don't have to play around with anything when adjusting the drag. I simply apply as much or as little pressure as needed and that's it.

I would rather do it myself. I know how the stream is running and how the weather looks. I know how I like to have the line handled so I just do it by hand.
