Default Where to skimp - rod or fly line?

If you had the choice between skimping on your fly line or your rod, which would you choose? I'd buy the bet fly line possible and save money on my rod if push came to shove.

If I were on a tight budget and wanted to get into fly fishing, I'd save a little on the rod and spend more on the line. The quality of the line will dictate how well and far you can cast.

Perhaps my inexperience is showing, but I think I'd actually spend more on the rod. Then, when I had saved enough, I could buy an improved line and still have a good rod to last me into the future.

I would also skimp on the line and buy the better rod. I could save up and buy better line the next time. Rods are more expensive than line and you buy line more than you buy rods.
