Default Leader length

What leader length do you usually use on your fly fishing rig? I have mind set up so it's somewhere between 7-9 feet. That seems to create nice distance from the fly line so the fish don't see it and get scared.

7 to 9 feet is about right for me. You have to have a long enough leader so that is provides distance between the end of the fly line and the fly. Add a some tippet and you're good to go.
