Dad's Equipment

I recently found my Dad's old fly fishing equipment. I have my own, but I am thrilled to find it. The reel is a little stiff and I wonder if the rod would be sturdy enough. Do you think I should try to use it or should I just keep it up for my children?

If you want to pass it to your children (for fishing?), you have to try it first to make sure it's still usable. It maybe just me, but I kinda think old things that are well maintained are usually more durable than the new ones.

It may need a little maintenance touch up, but as drey said you should try it out first and keep maintaining it to keep it fit for your children.

I think it's a great idea to use it. I bet your dad would want you to. You can pass it down to your kids later. Just be sure to take good care of it.

That's great to have your father's legacy. Did your father ever tell you some stories about his fishing tackle? "This fly has caught more than 100 trout." Well, something like that.

Try It out but handle it with care since that is part of your family's legacy. You can pass on to your children when they seem fit enough to be responsible anglers.
