Default What's a good fishery for a newbie?

Is there one fishery that is better than others when it comes to being new and not knowing much about fishing? Although my mate and I are going next weekend, I'm beginning to think we won't catch much and that I'll just sit, cold.

Pack on plenty of protein on your hooks and the fish will bite - they need to be tempted in the winter as there's a lack of food kicking about.

Give the proposed fisheries a call beforehand, explain you are new and if they have rod hire/tutors etc available. Don't be shy to ask if the fish are biting and if there have been any decent catches recently.

A good owner will always be willing to help/welcome newbies and won't be shy about his impressing catch records.

Hey, I didn't know that fisheries provide fishing tutors. Does it cost much to get one? What are the terms for a teaching session?
