Default Tying your first fly

How long time did it take to tie your first fly? I know it didn't take a whole day and just some hours. How much progress in fly tying do you make since that time?

I have nimble fingers so I did it in a jiffy, but after inspection, it was all wrong and I had to do it again.Does six hours without lunch break sound too much?

Actually, I'm a bit of a perfectionist, so that sounds a little on the short side compared to me! It didn't help that the person teaching me had very little patience, so it took forever for him to let me do it on my own without butting in and doing it for me.
