Lightbulb Needle knots

Do you use needle knot when tying a tippet to a leader? Is it really effective? Doesn't it loosen with the current?

I actually use a double surgeon's knot. Always have, and haven't had any need to change. If a needle knot isn't doing the trick for you, I'd suggest making a change!
