Default Stocked or wild?

Do you prefer to fish where the pond is stocked or do you prefer to fish in the wild?

For me it's easy, I love to fish in the wild. I won't say I won't fish where it's stocked, but I like to fish in the wild. It's more of a challenge to catch the type of fish you want.

I also prefer to fish in the wild. It is more natural and challenging. I don't like the idea of fishing in the place where the fish are prepared to caught.

As a beginner, anywhere is a good place to go fishing. I have to get a lot of practice and motivation. A stocked pond is a good place for practice.

If it's a family trip, a stocked pond is more likely to give us a good, entertaining time. If it's just me and a close friend or two, though, it's definitely all about the wild.

Mostly I fish in the wild. If I want to fish while I get limited time, I just go to the stocked pond nearby my place. It's better than not fishing at all.

Some great points made here. I do agree that when you are a beginner, it's great to fish in a stocked pond (your chances are better of catching a fish). It will build confidence. Same thing when fishing with the family, kids tend to get bored when not catching anything.

If it's just me, then I like fishing for wild trout. They tend to be a little smarter and more challenging to catch than stocked trout.

Lovetofish- You sound a lot like me! I love the challenge of landing that big trout! I 100% believe that you have more of a challenge when fishing in the wild.

Fishing for wild trout is much more fun and challenging. The reason you can catch some big, wild trout is because they learn how to survive and grow, unlike stocked trout that just wait for a handout and are caught so easily.
