Default Do birds help you decide where to fish?

Are there any birds in the areas that you fish that signal a good fishing spot for you? Whether it be because they are after the same bugs as the fish, or after the fish themselves (gulp!)?

Sharing the same spot with those birds can work either for or against you. I think less trout would surface if there are birds after them. Though, it will be fine if the birds are after the flies instead of the fish.

I guess I never really thought about it. I wonder if the trout stay in the water when they see birds. I'm thinking some types of birds would try to get the fish.

So my answer is no, birds don't help me decide where to fish.

I don't usually use birds to help me decide where to fish, unless they are eating the bugs on the lake!

Instead, I tend to watch for bugs-- bugs on the water, bugs flying over the water, etc. Especially if they're the bugs that trout eat!
