Default Springtime fishing

How many people have luck when fishing in the Spring for trout? I've learned that using bait is the best in the Springtime. Fish are hungry and they seem to bite the bait more than lures.
Also you should fish with a lightweight line because the fish are on the bottom of the water. Heavy line seems to get stiff and that makes the bait look "fake" to the fish.

Do you have any other tips for Springtime fishing?

Trout are usually pretty hungry when Spring comes around. I use all sorts of bait and have lots of good luck. Seems like they'll bite on just about any type of bait as they come out of Winter.

Fishing in the springtime is one of my favourites. I love how eager the fish are. Every time I go out, it's just brilliant. The baits are still just as important, but somehow, the fish always taste just that much better.

You are sure right about the fish tasting better then! When you go without fresh fish through the winter the fresh fish in the spring are amazing.

I have better luck with live bait than anything else in the spring.

Springtime is definitely my preferred time of year for spinning. We have a favorite lake we visit and a nice shady spot on the shoreline where we can enjoy the weather and reel the trout in. Believe it or not, we've caught trout before there using cheddar cheese as bait!

I love to fish in the spring too. After being cooped up for the winter (I'm not an ice fisher), there is nothing I look forward to more than catching the first trout of the season.

I agree that you have to slow everything down.
