Default Minimum size

Is there any minimum size required to keep trout you catch? Any fine to pay if you break the rule? I know nothing about this policy (if any), so where to find it?

Some places I've been have a minimum of 25 centimeters, but I think the season purposely begins in April to allow for young fish to mature in time and avoid the need for size limits.

Often times it can change from one location to another. If there are limits, it's all about preserving the fishery so the young trout can mature and grow.
