Default Worse place a hook has caught you?

Having been fishing for years I'm not shy to the occasional nasty hook embedded into my skin in one area or another.

I've had a few close calls with hooks passing my face and grabbing my jacket, although other anglers were to blame.

One or two have dug deep into the skin but nothing serious. What about you?

Having hooked by your own hook could be painful but its part of the game. I still have the scar of the hook that went deep into my right arm. It was an amateur mistake and that made me even more careful in casting.

When I was young and first began trout fishing with my grandpa, I got hooked several times. I have a pretty bad scar on my hand from someone else's carelessness. The hooking I've done to myself is about on par with yours, Khalid. Nothing serious.

Ive had a few hooks in my fingers and in my ear through fly fishing in windy conditions.. rigth past the barb too.. nice and bloody when quickly ripped out.. only way to do it.. slow and gentle is just too sore!

Once seen a mate catch a fly in his eyelid.. seriously this was horrible to see.. he had to go to A & E with it hanging there. I stayed out fishing though!!

My daughter once cast out and got me in the cheek. Thankfully it just grazed my skin and didn't really dig in. It still bled and hurt like the dickens! I'm sure I said a few choice words that day.

I've gotten my finger a few times.

I have been pretty lucky considering I am accident prone with just about everything else in life but a friend of mine growing up was not nearly as lucky. She was out in a small pond with her younger brother and when he went to flip back he did not check to see if anyone was around, she was and she caught about 1/2 an inch down from her lower eyelid. When she told me this story well after we became friends I almost teared up from how much pain she said she was in.
